March 22nd, 2019: The Bavarian Delight

browned

crispy on the outside and chewy on the inside

full of gluten, oh how my gut shutters at the thought

large crystals of salt the size of icebergs

you come in so many shapes and sizes

short, stubby bites like a toddler’s fingers

long rods that could build a log cabin

then there is the famous shape: the braided twist

I often think, what craftsmanship, what an honor to dine on this delectable carbohydrate

the way the bread folds over each other is delicate and deliberate, it must catch the honey mustard, the beer cheese, and all of the other sauces in between

you’re my alltime favotire snack

cheers to you my darling

and tonight…WE FEAST.
